After a long period of declining health, Robert passed away in Ottawa at 94 years.
He emigrated with his family from Newcastle England in 1953 and worked for various departments in the federal government as a marine engineer.
Predeceased by his parents David and Grace (Cook-Nicholson), and his sister Nancy Holdsworth (Derek (also deceased)). He is survived by Edith (Humphrey), his loving wife of 69 years, his sons; Colin (Kathie), David (Heather), and Allen (Katherine), grandchildren; Shawn, Eryn (Nic), Kristofor (Natalie), and Vicki, as well as great-grandchildren; Charlie and Bowie.
In accordance with his wishes there will be no visitation and interment of his ashes will take place privately. A memorial gathering will be held at Pinecrest Cemetery, 2300 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Saturday, March 2 from 2 to 5 in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice.
