Marlene Jordan
August 30, 1947 - August 19, 2017
Marlene Jordan was very surprised to die. She loved life so much she never expected it would end. She was surprised, as were we all, when she was diagnosed in 2014 with lobular breast cancer, treatable but incurable. She lived the next three years carpe diem, rarely feeling sorry for herself and celebrating every day she had. She lived for her six grandchildren: Madelyn (15) and Erin (11) Christner of Markham, Ontario; William (9) and Jack (7) Jordan of Ottawa; and Victor (5) and Miles (2) Beynon, also of Ottawa. Her Tree of Life was passed to daughter Shannon and husband Mike Christner; son Ryan and his wife Tracy (Burns); and daughter Alison and husband Tim Beynon.
She also leaves behind her sisters Susan, and Brenda, and her brother Wayne (and wife Leah), and as well her brother-in-law, Steve Jordan (and wife Barb). And many many friends from her days nursing at The Wellesley Hospital, Toronto, and KGH, Kingston, to her neighbours in every place she lived, to her Education Assistant days in the OCDSB, to the Lobster Party gang from AECL CC. Everyone who knew her, loved her. They were probably surprised at how she left her mark with them.
Marlene Dunham captured young Doug Jordan’s heart when they were both 17; she agreed to marry him in 1969, and gave her life to him; but he had to earn it every day. Marlene died on 2017 August 19; she was just 69.
Flowers are welcome but donations to Hospice Care Ottawa would be appreciated http://www.hospicecareottawa.ca/donate.html.
