Marilyn Heather Morris, Passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family at the Ottawa Civic Hospital at the age of 70. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 47 years Bob, son Rob, daughter Regan (Jason), grandchildren Keelyn and Connor, sister Eva, and many nieces, a nephew and their children and her cat Pepper. Marilyn was born in Winchester, Ontario to parents Hubert Riddell and Wilma Johnston. She graduated from Cornwall General Hospital's School of Nursing in 1968 and worked as a registered nurse for almost 40 years before retiring from Saint Vincent's Hospital in 2007. Marilyn loved family, she inspired and supported her children and grandchildren in every possible way. She always told us "you are your friends" which meant that the people you surrounded yourself with reflected your own values. She was a detail oriented person and took great enjoyment in saying that she loved it when a "plan comes together". Marilyn was proud of both of her children and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved watching Connor play hockey and cooking with Keelyn. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 26 at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Road Ottawa), where family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service to be held in the Pinecrest Chapel at 3 p.m. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Salvation Army or World Wildlife Fund
