On Thursday, July 14, 2016 in her 75th year, after a valiant struggle with lung cancer. Cherished wife of 47 years to Manfred Maack. Survived by her daughter Meghan (Pedro) and sons Nikolaus (Michelle), Tristan (Michelle), and Frederick. Grandmother of Hannah, Corina, Alexander and Edward. Also by siblings Ivan, Molle and Peter (Ann) and by nieces Tracey, Camille and Mary and nephews Mike (Lora) and Malcolm. Jean will be remembered as a strong, loving person who had a positive impact on those around her. Jean worked hard in the family business, Manfred’s Restaurant and was a long time resident of Westboro and a Superstore floral employee. Jean had recently spent her winters in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and will be missed by many new friends there. Jean had and enormous heart and deeply loved her family, pets and beautiful gardens. A Celebration of Jean’s life will take place at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Tuesday, July 19th from 6pm until 9pm. Words of Remembrance will be spoken at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation (Cancer Research) or Bruyere Foundation would be appreciated.
