In Celebration of

Thomas Edward "Rudy" Levecque

June 22, 1936 -  July 17, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Edward Rudy Levecque announce his passing on 17 July 2020, in his 84th year, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Rudy was born in Kapuskasing, Ontario to Arthur and Ivy Levecque on 22 June 1936. He was a devoted husband to Brenda Joyce (deceased) and Lucy Anne. He was a dedicated family man to his children Steven (Jane) Denise, Randy (late Darlene), Neil (Una), Paul (Denise) and adored his grandchildren Ryan, Justin, Elsa, Emma, Taylor, Matthew, Reid and Joel. Rudy loves his surviving sister, Joan, and the rest of his family and friends in the GTA as well as friends and family across the country. He often spoke very highly of his relatives in Nottingham and Lingfield in the U.K. He loved all of his family very deeply. He had a long career in the RCAF retiring as a Sgt, Flight Engineer. Next to his family, Rudy loved his career and the friends he met along the way of whom there are too many to mention. Rudy was a story teller and there wasn’t a day go by where he wouldn’t tell stories of the adventures many of them had in their lives, especially the antics he and Bill would get up to at hockey games, cruises, at the Mess or at the Legion. Rudy lived a full life having travelled extensively with the RCAF especially with postings to 3 Wing and Lahr in Germany and above all was a passionate Canadian. He worked with 450 Squadron travelling in the far north delivering Christmas gifts to the children in the villages and mapping lakes including Sgt TER Levecque Lake as well as other numerous adventures. His final posting was with 412 Squadron and had many stories to tell of the great friends he worked with. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the doctors and staff at the Ottawa General and Queensway Carleton hospitals as well as the Heart Institute and Cancer Centre and special thank you to Rudy’s friend and family doctor, Dr. Joanne Tannenbaum. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the funeral service will be a small private gathering. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Heart Institute or the Cancer Centre. Online condolences may be made at www.colefuneralservices.com.

What great times we had with this wonderful man ! We will never forget his version of the Hawaiian Queen. It was always a pleasure when we met him at the Mess, at Bill and Ginette ‘s or when they visited us. Un bon vivant always with a smile and a good story to tell. We will miss him.
