<div itemprop="description">Passed away peacefully on Monday August 20, 2018 after a valiant struggle with cancer.<br><br>He was the loving husband to Ruth (Huston) and dear brother of Jill. Will be missed by many family and friends.<br><br>Rod grew up in Vancouver British Columbia. After graduating from the Vancouver School of Art he worked for CTV in set design and production. He later joined the design team at Parks Canada where he designed and won awards for the original beaver logo. Rod moved to the Museum of Civilization working on the new museum building from the ground up and as Chief of Design created the Canada History Hall. In retirement Rod ran his own design business specializing in graphic arts and design.<br><br>Rod’s second love was music having played Euphonium in the Nepean Concert Band and studied composition with the Conductor of the Nepean Symphony Orchestra. Rod was an avid photographer who loved camping and touring this great country.<br><br>Many thanks to the incredibly caring Palliative Care Team of Doctors, nurses and staff at the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice, Dr. Heather Mills, and Dr. Jessica Ngan.<br><br>A celebration/walk in Rod’s memory will be held at Hugh and Susan’s farm South Mountain on September 22,2018 from 13:00 to 16:00. Please RSVP Ruth or Hugh. We will walk the ‘Green Mile’ one of Rod’s favourite strolls so walking shoes will be needed.<br><br>For those who wish memorial donations can be made to the Ruddy- Shenkman Hospice or the charity of your choice.<br></div>
