In Celebration of

Roderick John "Rod" Craig

February 23, 1947 -  July 16, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Rod’s passing at May Court Hospice on July 16, 2020 at age 73 years. He leaves behind his beloved wife and soulmate of 41 years, Ruth and his much loved American Cocker Spaniel Cecil. Brother of Diana (John) Joynt of Cobourg. Uncle of Colin (Mary) Joynt and their daughter Taylor of Chicago and Graham (Bryna) Joynt of Toronto. Son of the late Millicent and Samuel Craig. Rod loved classic cars, especially his 69 Dodge Dart, cycling, golf, the Detroit Red Wings and spaniels. Due to Covid-19 there will be a private graveside service. In Memory of Rod memorial donations may be made to May Court Hospice or to the Ottawa Humane Society

So sad to hear of Rod's passing. I had the good fortune of meeting Rod and Ruth at the classic car shows. Rod was so proud of The Dart! He was always so welcoming, and happy to stop for a nice chat. Ruth, please accept my sincere condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

It was a joy to have Rod help with our gardening. He didn't kill the "Nesbitt Weed". It still resists all kinds of weed killer.
We miss you Rod and your love of life.

Sincerely,
The Lister Family.

Catherine and I wish our very best for Ruth. Rod will certainly be missed, he was an absolutely great neighbor. Can't tell you how many times he came by offering to help with snow shovelling or simply the sharing of pleasantries. Loved his enthusiasm for fitness. Hope his Red Wings win the Cup.
