Robert Jahn
May 24, 1923 - April 18, 2018
On Wednesday, April 18th, 2018, Robert Jahn (BJ) passed away peacefully at the age of 94.
Bob was born in Pleasantville, New Jersey on May 24, 1923.
He began his studies in electrical engineering at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His studies were interrupted to serve his country in the Army.
After his service ended, he returned to MIT to complete his degree. He spent part of his career with Digitat Computer Lab and Bell Labs then later moved to Canada.
BJ lived his life to the fullest. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved hiking, skiing, tennis, sailing, flying and cycling.
His family fondly remembers spending time with him during the Christmas holidays.
BJ shared many historical films of his adventures while narrating them to the family.
The family would like to thank many of the people who helped care for Bob including Legacy Private Trust,
Seniors Solution: Debbie Abfalter, Fred McClellan and Betty, Barb Wallingford and his good friend John Katic.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Carla and George F. Jahn and his brother
George Frederick Jahn (Peggy). He is survived by three nieces: Barbara McCauley (Charlie), Susan Lester (Dave) and Catherine Mills (Steve); a great-nephew Brandon Lester (Alicesara); and three great-nieces: Natalie Cadden (Alex), Christin Mills, and Sheri Mills.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 27th, 2018 at 1:30pm at Pinecrest Cemetery, Cremation Centre & Mausoleum in Ottawa, ON.
