<div itemprop="description">Peacefully surrounded by his family, The beloved husband of Zhenji Yin, The loving father of 2 daughters and two sons-in-law, Taiyu & Yongliang, and Xiangyu & Yuren, The caring grandfather of Jinyan, Jinxuan and Sherry, Mr. Qilie Jin passed away on August 14th, 2018 at the age of 73 years, at Elisabeth Bruyere hospital in Ottawa. <br><br> Qilie Jin was born on March 10, 1945, in Jiaohe County, Jilin, China. His family has a Chinese-Korean background. He was the seventh child of his family with the total number of eight. He is the descendant of Xianchang’s Jin family.<br><br> He went to the Agricultural College of Yanbian University in 1964 to study in Agronomy. During his school life, he actively participated in student council activities as the head of the publicity department. He met the broadcaster, Zhenji Yin, during his college life. They got married on June 29, 1969, immediately after his graduation.<br><br> He had successfully held the posts of physical education teacher at No. 5 Middle School of Longjing Jilin and Longjing High School, Chairman of the labor union, principal of Experimental Vocational High School of Longjing, vice-principal of School of Teachers’ Advanced Studies of Longjing, deputy to the People’s Congress of Longjing County. He was a beloved, outstanding teacher and an advanced worker in the education industry. As a national level of soccer referee, China National Sports Committee awarded him the title of Natonal Excellent Judge of Sports. <br><br> After his retirement, he came to Canada to visit his family. In March 2010, he became a permanent resident of Canada. While enjoying his retirement life in Canada, he devoted himself to his family and grandchildren. He had very broad interests and hobbies, especially in various sports such as fishing.<br><br> After being diagnosed as stomach cancer, he kept being optimistic, regardless of every adversity. While staying at home, he played a traditional Korean floral card game, GOSTOP, everyday with his wife. During his 12 rounds of chemotherapy, he kept a habit of exercising and going outside with his wife everyday for an hour. <br><br>He will be missed by all his family and friends for ever.<br><br>The memorial ceremony will take place at Pinecrest Cemetery in the morning of Aug 20.<br></div>
