June 4, 1925 – June 22, 2017
After an extraordinary life filled with unbelievable experiences, Peter has left
on his next adventure to join his beloved wife, Gertrude. Born in Pine River,
Manitoba, he passed away peacefully in Ottawa at 92 years of age.
His deep love of family was expressed through his patience, sense of humour
and encouragement. He will be remembered for his incredible energy,
determination, courage and love of travel. His can-do attitude inspired others to
“Dream Big”.
Left to honour his memory are his children, Jenny Deek (Zahi), Anne Kurdziel
(Joe Louch), Robert Kurdziel, Joy Gillis (Fred), his grandchildren, Andrew
(Jessie), Patricia, Alexandra (Firas), Diana, Nicholas, Natalie, Anthony, Dale
(Crystal), Julia (Alan), Anna (Jerold), Adreena (Olivier) and great -
grandchildren, Osirus, Paul, Ameera, Lily, Charlotte and Jacob. He is survived by his
sister, Mary, predeceased by his brothers, Joe and Phil.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 15, at 1:30 p.m. at Bethany
Baptist Church, 382 Centrepointe Dr, Ottawa. Peter was a passionate volunteer
in the community. In his memory, donations can be made to Bethany Baptist
Church or to the charity of your choice.
