ANDRUSEK, Peter
1925 - 2018
After a happy and fulfilling life Peter passed away peacefully with family by his side. Our Patriarch has concluded his lifetime story. Dad passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018. He was predeceased by his mother, father, sisters and brothers. Dad was devoted to his long time companion Claire St-Denis. Cherished father of Diana, Nancy (Gary Beatty), Peter (Laura) and Christopher (Linda) as well as his grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher Jr., Lindsay, Dayna, Rachael and his great-grandchildren Madison and Henry. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was a man who touched many lives. Dad lived his entire life in the "Village" attending Devonshire Public School and Ottawa Tech where he was a star athlete. His career was as a Tinsmith at NRC. He was a Lay Minister for a number of years at Parson's Memorial Church on Preston Street. He spent a number of years working at Jasper Park Lodge, Alberta and the Chateau Laurier. He will also be remembered as a disc jockey bringing joy, laughter and music into many lives. Playing hockey into his 80's was a testament to his enjoying life to its fullest and he was thrilled to be able to play in the Snoopy Hockey Tournament in Santa Rosa, California. He was an avid fisherman and golfer but most of all, his greatest treasure was his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather and he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. Special thanks to the Staff at the Ravines as well as the staff at the Elizabeth Bruyere, Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion.
"In the end, each of us will be judged by our standard of life not by our standard of living. By our measure of giving not by our measure of wealth and by our simple goodness not by our seeming greatness."
Friends and family are invited to Dad's Celebration of Life at the Ravines Retirement Home, 636 Prado Private, Ottawa, Ontario on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
