After living with cancer for two years, surrounded by her loving family, Pat Mangione (nee Goold) passed away peacefully on February 22, 2020. Pat was predeceased by her parents William and Rita Goold (nee Ebbs).

For over 56 years, Pat was the much loved wife of Joe Mangione and was a devoted parent to Gordon (Florie), Monica (David) and Bruce. She was a proud grandmother to Michael (Kelsey), Cameron, Emmalia and Owen, and sister in-law and aunt to Joe’s siblings and their children.

Not only did Immaculata High School destine Pat to marry a St. Pat’s boy, it was the place where many of her lifelong friendships were initiated. Pat, an only child, cherished her friends - too many to mention - you know who you are. You were her joy during the good times, and her strength during difficult ones.

Pat had a great sense of fun toward life. She enjoyed skiing locally and at Mount Tremblant. As a member of the Ottawa Hunt Club for 25 years, she enjoyed golfing, and socializing with Joe and their many good friends. She loved travelling the world, snowbirding in Florida, and sipping a glass of red wine with the girls!

Pat was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, and loved playing bridge with friends. As a member of the SALUS Board, Pat was instrumental in the completion of the first home for residents leaving the hospital. She was also a member of the Kiwanis Club providing various services to the community.

Throughout her life, and most evidently during her recent battle with cancer, Pat’s determination, strength and courage were admirable. Her character will be remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Celebration of Life and Funeral Mass to be held at Our Lady of the Visitation located at 5338 Bank Street on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 12:00 pm (noon). Immediately following, a reception will be held in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice at May Court, the Royal Ottawa Hospital Foundation, and / or SALUS would be appreciated.
