In Celebration of

Melvin "Roy" Murrant

March 28, 1939 -  May 24, 2020

Roy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Loving husband to Roberta Murrant (nee Cross) for 57 years. He was the loving father to Wade, Coral (Stephen) and Tanya (Kyle) and the proud grandfather of Galen and Rowan.

He was the son of the late Wesley Murrant and late mothers Isabelle Murrant (nee McDougall) and Ruth Murrant (nee Mills), the dear brother of Darrell Murrant (Marybelle) and Judy Clements (Wayne) and caring uncle to Scott, Chipper & Cory and Glenn, Craig & Cindy.

He will be missed by Trudy, Amanda & Steve, Jill & Mike, Aileen, Sandra, Deb & Neil, Michael & Emily, Betty-Lou and many other family and friends.

Roy was born in Donkin, Cape Breton, NS, graduated from Dalhousie University and the Technical University of Nova Scotia and enjoyed travelling the world as a Professional Electronic Engineer. In retirement he took special interest in his grandchildren, genealogy, craft beer, antique radio collecting and gardening.

The family wishes to thank the Champlain Local Health Integration Network, Queensway Carleton Hospital and all the doctors, nurses and caregivers for their kindness, compassion, care and support.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date when we are all able to gather together.

For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada.
