Marion Sobczak

June 1, 1937 -  October 30, 2020

Marion passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 30, 2020, after a struggle with various types of cancer and heart conditions. Marion was the caring and loving wife for 61 years of Dr. Lawrence W. Sobczak. She is survived by daughter Sharon (Bert), sons Christopher and Craig, grandchildren Gordon, Johnathan, Nickolas, Brad and Derek, sister Emillie O’Neil, Aunts Isobell Desjardins of Calgary, Alberta, Victoria Cymbaluk of Edmonton, Alberta. She is predeceased by her parents Bill and Helen Musoronchan, brother Andrew, Uncles Bill Olynyk of Oshawa, Ont., Peter Olynyk of Hamilton, Ont, Jack Olynyk of Edmonton, Alberta, and Aunt Lena Humney of Chilliwack, B.C. She was born in Smokey Lake, Alberta, schooled and worked in General Motors Oshawa, Ont. She married Dr. Lawrence Sobczak in 1959 and lived most of her life in Ottawa. She worked hard at raising her family, vacationed at Sharbot Lake and North Fort Myers, Florida and travelled with her husband to various venues in North America . A private family service will be held at the Pinecrest Cemetery. For those wishing, donations may be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart Institute.

I have so Many memories of Marion. it would be to long. we laugh a lot. i enjoyed having her stay with us for the 4 months. the day she Left my heart broke. She was something special. We took her to Vegas twice me Bert and Sharon she loved the 2 trips. He played a trick on Bert about Grandma loved Giant tiger Butter Tarts. and Bert kept saying to Grandma do you miss the butter tart and she said yes with a smerk on her face. i will miss you love you.
