In Celebration of

Maria Wyslouzil

September 4, 1927 -  September 12, 2020

Our dear Mom and Oma has passed away in peace and full of gratitude. She lived life to the fullest, cherished her beloved family, get-togethers with relatives and friends, enjoyed her travels, climbing, hiking and skiing the beautiful mountains of Tirol (Austria), the Dolomites (Suedtirol), the Rocky Mountains of Western Canada and Haida Gwaii, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean.

Singing was her lifelong passion and she really enjoyed the events and gatherings of the Austrian Society where she could sing with the "Alpentrio" her native traditional folksongs.. She was also an honorary member of the Austrian Society, proud recipient of the Silver Medal of Merit from the Republic of Austria and received the decoration of Merit in Gold from the Austrian Canadian Council.

She was our "herzensgute" Mom to Reinhart, Klaus (Michelle), Elisabeth (Gerald); Oma to Jamie-Maria (Chris) Nikolaus, Kellen (Julie). Predeceased by dear husband Edi. Greatly missed by brothers-in-law Dago (Lore) Hans (Cathy), Walter (Lorna), by many nieces and nephews, many dear relatives in Tirol (Zillertal) and all the treasured friends of our family; especially dear Karin, her music and singing companion for over 40 years.

We will miss you Mom for the happiness you brought and the love you gave.

A sincere thank you to the helpful and caring people of Bayshore Home Care and the dedicated staff of the May Court Hospice. Special thanks to Dr. Shamim Taherzadeh-Malmiri and Dr. Stuart Kurtz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date after cremation has taken place.

To the entire Wyslouzil family, our deepest sympathy. Maria was a wonderful neighbour, and a friend to Julia. They shared a love of gardening. We were blessed to grow up with you. Reinhart, Klaus, Elisabeth and extended family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

It is with much sadness I read that Maria had passed away after living life to the fullest.
I had the privilege of singing next to Maria for 12 years as a member of the Johannes Brahms choir. She was my mentor in singing and teaching the right pronunciation of everything German always so kind, encouraging and smiling. I had great affection for a great lady. To everyone in her family please accept my sincere condolences.
Auf Wiedersehen Maria may you Rest In Peace.

I had the pleasure of meeting Maria and enjoying Austrian folk songs she sang with her beautiful voice when members of the Austrian Society of Ottawa visited the Austro-American Association of Boston. These were quite special heart-warming days. To Maria's family - please accept my condolences.

Mrs. Wislouzil was always a joy to interact with. She was a great stress reliever for staff and management at Tony Graham Motors.

Fondly,
Rick
