John Barry Tucker

John Barry Tucker, July 24, 1933 to June 27, 2018, son of Bernard and Lorna Tucker. Loving Husband for 60 years to Maureen (nee) Johnson. Together with their children and extended families, they shared their dreams, adventures, joys and fascination with the outdoor life of the Ottawa Valley. Maureen was his ROCK, a devoted mom, always loving, supportive and understanding. Proud Father of three of the finest people anyone could ever have; Paul (Irene), David (Lisa), and Julie (Steven). Grandfather to Naomi (Darren), Amber (Mike), and Ben (predeceased), Jessica, Alec and Joshua. Great grandfather to Hayley, Isabel, Alice, Edmund and Aedan, Nathaniel and Quentin. Brother of the late Sandra Monette, (Michael), and Brother-in-law of the late Bill Johnson (Nancy). John loved family gatherings and cottage vacations. He loved the Ottawa Valley and made a great number of valley friends over the years. As a young man John served with the R.C.A.F and later joined the Canadian Army where he earned his Royal Commission in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. On the occasion of their wedding his fellow officers provided him and Maureen with a Military Honour Guard, a gift they would cherish forever. In the private sector John was privileged to work with the fine tradesman, businessmen and professionals of the Plumbing, Heating and Water Conditioning industry, first in the wholesale sector and then with his company, J.B. Tucker and Associates, for 41 years. In keeping with John’s wishes there will be no visitation prior to cremation. A celebration of John’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 4th at the Pinecrest Solarium, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa at 11 a.m. followed by a private burial attended by family. In memorium, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
