Henrietta "Henny" Berkelaar

October 29, 1955 - December 7, 2020

Peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Ottawa Hospital - Civic Campus. Predeceased by her parents Maria and Gysbert. She will be missed by her loving husband Dave, her children, Jeff, Joe, Adam (Jen), Mathew and Jonathan and her cherished dogs Jake and Simon. She will be missed by her many siblings, Ria (Theo), Magda (Bill), Corrie (Mark), Sim (Truusje), Coby (Bill), John (Marylin), Anita (Henry), Gil (Sheri). She will be remembered by her many nieces, nephews and cousins throughout Canada and Netherlands. Special aunt to Bronté, cherished friend to Catherine, Rosalee and Lyn and loved niece of Om Cor and Tante Klaske.

Always wished to have gotten to know each other better! I remember Henny as a little kid in Holland, then as one of the many cousins in Ontario, later on an occasional visit. Will always remember her beautiful wedding to Dave I
I loved her upbeatness, her warmth, her humour and empathy. She was such a great example to us all: how to live

Our condolences to Hennie's husband and children and all her siblings. We only met once or twice but were aware of her complex health issues and her suffering as well as the exceptional care Dave provided. We pray she is now at peace.
