In Celebration of

Gordon Frederick Francis Noble

December 25, 1932 -  July 10, 2020

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gordon Frederick Francis Noble on Friday, July 10, 2020 at home at the age of 87. Beloved husband to his late wife Marilyn of 52 years, and fiancé Sally of six years. Loving father of Walter (Tina) and Deborah (Rui), proud grandfather of Carlos, Sofia, Teresa, Corey and Holly.

Born in Toronto in 1932, Gordon grew up in Goderich, Ontario. After high school he pursued his post-secondary studies at Victoria College at the University of Toronto where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. His career spanned over 35 years starting at the Phillips Electronics Company in the 1950's. In the 1960's and 1970's he worked in leadership roles at the Canadian Film Institute and the National Film Board of Canada. In 1978, he continued working in senior management at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed 30 years of retirement with family and friends by spending summers at the cottage on Devil Lake near Westport, Ontario and winters in Englewood, Florida.

A private family service, led by Rev. Ernie Cox, is being held at Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel. A celebration of Gordon's life will be shared through the creation of a short documentary film to be released at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations to McPhail Baptist Church are greatly appreciated via e-transfer to: offerings@mcphailbaptist.ca or by cheque to: 249 Bronson Ave, Ottawa, ON K1R 6H6.

Dear Walter and Debbie,

Your Dad was a remarkable and talented gentleman whom we admired over the years. His boundless energy and enthusiasm for his family, life's bounties and endless projects was infectious. Even down in Englewood, he captivated us with his lust for living. We were honoured to know him and each of you and your Mom. We enjoyed meeting Sally in later years and know that how much he will be missed. One thing certain in our minds is that your Dad lived a loving and full life. Lesslie, Royce and Chris and their families join us in expressing our love and most sincere condolences.

Lots of fun family memories, Gordon was a large presence, always a positive attitude, knowledgeable, interesting and enlightening. He will leave a huge void but in time will be filled with loving memories for his family and friends.
Safe travels Gordon, 'til we meet again. We will miss you xo
