In Celebration of

Fred Farmer

May 7, 1928 -  April 11, 2020

Frederick (Freddy) Farmer passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on April 11th, 2020 at the age of 91. Loving husband of the late Joyce Farmer; treasured father of Rick (Nancy Puddin), Gary (Linda Peca), Linda (Tom Kotyk), and Susie (Brent Rouleau) and adored grandfather of Melissa, Sabrina, Kayla, Cory (deceased), Kevin and Jessica, dear brother of John (deceased) and Jean (deceased). Freddy was born in Cantley, Quebec. In 1945, at the age of 17, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where he went on to serve with distinction for 33 years and rose to the rank of Master Warrant Officer. An avid hunter and fisherman, he spent much of his free time at lakes and campgrounds around the region with friends and family. After retirement, he spent his winters in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and Florida with his loving wife Joyce. Freddy will be lovingly remembered for his infinite generosity, his vast collection of stories with Joyce and his wide travels and adventures—which he jubilantly shared with family and friends for many years—and, of course, his meticulous attention to his beloved garden. The family extends their deepest appreciation to the staff at the Perley Veterans’ Health Centre, Thorncliffe Retirement Place, the LIHN, Nurse Next Door, Bayshore Health, Queensway Carleton and Ottawa General Hospital and Veterans Affairs. The celebration of life for Frederick Farmer has been postponed indefinitely

How sad to hear of Fred’s passing. He was a great neighbour and an enthusiastic gardener. His incredible tomatoes put the “Farmer” name firmly in place!
May you rest in peace Fred as you wander the far beyonds with your sweet Joyce...in search of your next exciting adventure.
With deepest sympathies,
Brenda and Robin

It is so sad to hear about the passing of Fred. I have great memories growing up beside the Farmers. Many laughs and hanging out with the kids. I know it must be extra hard to go through funeral planning through these difficult times in the world. Please keep us posted on the celebration of life. Freddy will be missed, ox

Very sad to hear this news. Fred will be dearly missed by family and friends. Many good times had over the fence and in the backyards and basements with Joyce, Fred and the Farmer gang.
Please let us know when we can celebrate Freds life with all of you. Take care of each other during this time .
