In Celebration of

Farid Kamel

January 1, 1922 -  November 4, 2020

Farid Kamel passed peacefully in the early hours of November 4, two months shy of his 99th birthday.
Loving father of sons Ragui (Maria) and Cherif (Carol); beloved daughter in law Pauline (Bernie); grandfather of Chris (Leslie), Andrew (Giulia) and Catherine (John) and great-grandfather of Siena, Lilly and Amelia Kamel. Great “Bumpa” will be missed by three generations and many friends who enjoyed his charm, kindness and wit.
Farid had a long and distinguished career with the WHO in the Congo and Nigeria where he contributed to enhance health and health education. Countless lives have been made better by his work.
Born a copt, he was one of the early members of St Mary’s Coptic Orthodox church in Ottawa which he attended for over 30 years. Farid was predeceased by the love of his life, Tahany Kamel, to whom he was devoted for over 65 years. He is now with her. In lieu of flowers, donations to either Coptic orphans or the ALS foundation are appreciated
