<div itemprop="description">Elsa Astrid MacRitchie, 81 of Ottawa, passed away on October 25, 2018 in Ottawa. <br> <br>Elsa was born in Ottawa to Anna and Aksel Garnes on February 13, 1937. She married Ivan MacRitchie on February 1, 1958 in Ottawa and they happily celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary earlier this year. <br> <br>Elsa is survived by her loving husband Ivan MacRitchie, her children Cindy (Steve Wilkes), Brenda and Scott as well as her Brother Rolf Garnes and her Grandchildren Melissa (Ben Tucker) and Jessica (Andy Kahler) along with great-grandchildren Sophia Tucker and Penelope Tucker. Elsa is preceded in death by her son Glen Ivan MacRitchie, her parents Anna and Aksel Garnes and by her Brother Albert Garnes. <br> <br>Elsa worked as a hairdresser and at Canada Post until focusing on being a mother and homemaker to her family. <br> <br>Visitation will be 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Pinecrest Remembrance Centre, 2500 Baseline Rd, Ottawa, Ontario. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 31 in the Pinecrest Chapel at 11 am; Reverend Mike Perrault will officiate. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery. <br> <br>For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Dementia Foundation of Canada or the Leukemia Foundation of Canada. The family of Elsa Astrid MacRitchie also want to humbly thank the Doctors and staff of the General Hospital as well as the Bruyere Clinic for the compassionate care of Elsa in her times of need. <br> <br> <br> <br></div>
