<div itemprop="description">Peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, surrounded by his family, at the age of 79. Beloved and cherished husband to Carolyn. Devoted and loving father to Sandra (Francois), John (Sylvia), Judy (Bruce), Peter (Melissa) and Steven (Nicole). Proud grandfather to Amanda, Catherine, Simon, Riley, Cole, Blake, Avery, Chip, Read, Sullivan, Sarah, Amy and Beth. Dear brother to Glen (Diane) and Jim (Maria). Predeceased by parents Florence and James McStravick. He will be missed by his extended family and friends. <br> <br>Donald, a Chartered Accountant, worked at CBC/Radio-Canada for over 30 years. He was a devoted member of St. Martin de Porres Parish, the Knights of Columbus, the Ottawa Cursillo Movement and the Waupoos Foundation. Donald was a passionate fan of crosswords, Steven King novels, the Ottawa Senators and loved his summers at his cottage in Nova Scotia. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Rd, on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will take place on Friday, February 16, 2018 at St. Martin de Porres Church, 3891 Old Richmond Rd, Nepean (Bell's Corners) at 11:00 a.m. A time of fellowship, remembrance and refreshments will follow immediately in the Church hall. <br> <br>The family would like to extend their special thanks to all the staff at the Heart Institute, the Ottawa Civic Hospital and Dr. Howard Cohen for his wonderful care for many years. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The University of Ottawa Heart Institute or to St. Martin de Porres Church. <br></div>
