<div itemprop="description">It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of Costas Antoniou on Wednesday January 22nd, 2020 at the Ottawa General Hospital, peacefully in his 88th year.<br>Costas is survived by Vasiliki, his wife of over 50 years, his sons George and Andreas (Ann Marie), his sister Katina, and his precious grandson Aiden. He was predeceased by his parents George and Olga, his brothers Vasili and John, and his sister Sevasti, all in Greece, and by his brother-in-law Emmanuel in San Francisco.<br>Costas will be fondly remembered by his brothers-in-law John (Elpiniki) and Jim (Athena), his many nieces and nephews, and by friends and relatives in Greece, Australia, the United States and Canada. He will be especially missed by his faithful companion and best friend Spiro.<br>Born on June 27, 1931 in Samos, Greece, Costas immigrated to Canada and throughout his time here created a wonderful life for his wife and sons, full of happiness and love. He was a man of many skills and talents, but his favourite role without question was being a grandfather to Aiden over the last 3 years.<br>The Antoniou family would like to extend its immeasurable thanks to all the nurses and doctors at the Ottawa General Hospital for providing Costas with such amazing care, compassion and respect during his time with them. Our heartfelt gratitude also goes out to Protopresbyter Father Alex Michalopoulos for visiting with Costas and giving his family support and strength.<br>Family will receive friends on Friday, January 24 at Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church (1315 Prince of Wales Drive) from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm, with Trisagion Prayer at 6:00 pm. The Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, January 25 at 11:30 am. Interment to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Hellenic Community of Ottawa Greek Orthodox Church.<br></div>
