In Celebration of

Yvonne Barrette

December 26, 1954 -  May 20, 2020

Yvonne passed away after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the age of 65.

Yvonne is the daughter of the late John and Anne Leclair. Loving wife of the late Donald Barrette. Devoted mom to Christopher (Lori Macadam), Shawn (Nadia), Sarah, Michael, Rachel, Rebekah-Rose, Jessica. Grandma to Liam & Holly, Eliana & Emmeline, Hannah & Sophie and Dante. Beloved sister to Christine Breault (deceased), Susan Pinard (brother-in-law Claude Pinard), Catherine Belanger (brother-in-law Gaston Belanger),Theresa Leclair and Colleen Leclair. Yvonne was an Aunt to 20 nieces and nephews, always doing her best to help out and give her best advice when she could.

Yvonne became a foster parent with Kingston CAS in 1983 and continued to look after children until the day she died, 37 years later. She absolutely loved children and did everything she could to extend a home to these kids that had the misfortune of not having one. Yvonne had many friends over the years and even though she may have lost touch over time, she held them all in high regard. Special thanks to those in her church community who assisted her and the girls during dad’s illness and especially during her difficult fight and time of need, the family is forever grateful.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital in Napanee for the wonderful care during the Covid-19 pandemic in accommodating the family as best as they could to ensure loved ones were by Yvonne’s side at the end.

In lieu of flowers, your donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be most appreciated.
