JASON, Yael Sara Dalit

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Yael on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the far too young age of 32 years. Yael passed away peacefully in her home. Born February 17, 1982 in Edmonton, Alberta, Yael was the beloved daughter of Paul and Yvonne, much-loved sister of Mikhela (Jesse Alboim) and Guy (Lindsay Antenucci), cherished granddaughter of Eve, and adored long-time partner of Scott Broadbent. Yael was a beautiful young woman, both inside and out, who, despite all her health issues, from a very young age, had many wonderful achievements and made such a difference in the community, including her charity work for Crohn's, colitis, and colorectal cancer. For years, Yael was the driving force and inspiration behind The Snowflake Ball. More recently, she was passionate about raising awareness for those with severe chronic illnesses and physical limitations and the need for programs to help them live a purposeful and fulfilling life. Ever curious and inquisitive, Yael was a voracious reader, with a deep love of learning. She was also brilliantly creative, with a flair for writing, and she would spend countless hours handcrafting cards, gift wrapping, and even holiday crackers for special occasions. Yael approached all of life's obstacles, including her debilitating illnesses, with a strong and persistent determination and tireless energy, all while maintaining a gorgeous smile and an amazing sense of humour. Yaelly, you will be missed desperately, and although you may be gone, you will live forever in our hearts. You have left so much good behind. We love you so much.

Please come and celebrate Yael’s life and legacy. To pay respects, visitation is being held at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, on Wednesday, July 23rd from 7-9pm and the funeral will take place on Thursday, July 24th at 2PM, at Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa.
