Walter Thomas Strang

Passed away at home in Kanata and went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2020 at age 81. Walter suffered a spinal cord injury at 79 and developed cancer at 81 he was courageous and strong, and always remained positive he adored his family and fought hard to remain with them. Born in Lawn, Newfoundland, Canada on June 30, 1939 to Lillian and Thomas Strang, Walter moved to Ottawa in 1991 and worked as a heavy machinery mechanic. He worked extremely hard his entire life, and would lend a helping hand to anyone while expected nothing in return. He loved cars, especially FORD, and would help anyone with an oil change or rotating tires. Walter was a humble, kind and gentle soul he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Walter leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Norma; daughters, Cindy Broderick (Rod), Kim Bonin (Ken), Kara and Candace Strang; granddaughters, Caitlin and Maddie; and grandson, Tyler; as well as brothers Theo, Jack, and Mike, sisters, Madeline and Helen, and the late Alec, George, Alfred, Ken, and Thomas; a host of nieces and nephews, and extended family.
