Toshiko Yamazaki (née Kasajima in Wassamu, Hokkaido, Japan)
Toshiko, a quiet, patient, and gentle woman of faith, went to be with her Lord peacefully at the age of 80 on August 27, 2018 at home. Beloved wife of Hiroshi for 57 years. Loving mother of Christine Yamazaki (David Villeneuve) of Ottawa; Ken Yamazaki (Evonne) of Brisbane, Australia; and Amy Lau (Timothy) of Ottawa. Dear grandmother of Lisa Vanderschuit (Patrick); Alison, Miriam, and Hannah Villeneuve; Julia and Samuel Yamazaki; Meghan, Bethany, Noah, Isabel, Abigail, and Emma Lau. Survived by sisters Mitsuko Oukuma and Sachiko Miyazaki and brother Haruo Kasajima of Hokkaido, Japan. Predeceased by parents Joushin and Tomie Kasajima, sisters Setsuko Kasajima and Kazuko Hayakawa, and brothers Kensho, Shizuo, and Fumio Kasajima of Hokkaido, Japan.
The family wishes to express their love and sincere thanks to her church family (Arlington Woods Church, Ottawa) for their loving support of her and her family since 1967. The family also thanks the medical teams at Queensway Carleton Hospital, Irving Greenberg Cancer Centre (Dr. Peter Cross, Dr. Khadija Bhimji, and others), and the CLHIN (Dr. Kamla Swami, Dr. Priscilla Bright, Nova Robinson, and others) for their compassionate and respectful care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arlington Woods Free Methodist Church or Irving Greenberg Cancer Centre.
