In Celebration of

Siegfried Krenn

August 19, 1933 -  October 30, 2020

Siegfried Krenn entered into rest peacefully on October 30th, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Ingeborg Krenn (nee Schiestl) and father to Barbara Till and the late Peter Krenn (Maria). Opa to Matthew Till, Nicole Grimes (Jay) and Travis Till (Ashley). Great-Opa to Isaac, Patrick and Eric Till; Lilian, Harrison, Alfred and Nevin Grimes; Emsley, Elowyn and Brady Till. Older brother to Felizian Krenn and Rudolf Krenn, of Austria.

Siegfried was born on August 19, 1933 in Dellach im Drautal, Kärnten, Austria; He and Inge married in 1956 and came to Canada shortly after. They lived and worked in Toronto and retired to Cowan’s Bay (Omemee) in the 1990’s. They travelled often; Hawaii was a favourite destination and after retiring made yearly visits to Austria. Inge passed away in 2012 and Siegfried moved to Ottawa in 2019.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a ‘COVID restricted’ Celebration of his Life, friends are invited to don their masks and enter Barbara's yard on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 10:00 am until 12:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. (restricted numbers as is required) to make the most of the situation; take advantage of what looks to be a very warm November day. Because we cannot partake in food and drink, guests will return home with a sample of things Ziggy had liked and it is our hope that you enjoy them, think of Opa, in the safety of your homes.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice. Opa might smile if there was some money destined for a slot machine of your choice.

Siegfried Krenn was another hardworking Austrian, who made something of himself!
We, the Austrian Community of Canada are deeply thankful for his contributions in helping built Canada. He diligent work ethic opened the door for us immigrants who came at a later date. For this we are very grateful to him. Rest in peace dear Carinthian, (Kärntner) friend. To his daughter Barbara, his grand children and to his great grand children our deepest condolences.

I remember when we travelled to Turks and Caicos. Inge would swim in the pool early in the morning, and Ziggy would sit at the side with a pot of coffee. He'd call out encouragement in that big booming voice!

I am so sorry to hear this Barb. I was thinking of both of you the other day when that terrible attack took place in Vienna. I was thinking about your family that live in Austria. It sounds like your Dad had a good life and got to do some traveling. My condolences to the rest of your family and hope to see you on Saturday. Good job on ordering the nice weather!
