<div itemprop="description">Following a prolonged illness, Ron departed for a better place. Beloved husband of Marion Hodgins of 60 wonderful years. Much loved father of Charmaine (Richard Logan) and cherished Grandpa of Isaiah, Amyah and Kiannah. Predeceased by infant granddaughter Chardé. Remembered by step-grandchildren Latoya, Anthony and Tristan. Survived by dear brother Kenneth (late Donna Gill), sister-in-law Jessie Cairns (late Robert Cairns), brother-in-law Howard Hodgins (Anne Ireland) and brother-in-law Eric Hodgins (Helen). Also survived by step-brothers John Finn (Judy) and Robert Belsher (Joan) and step-sister Helen Trudeau (William). Fondly remembered by all hi nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents William and Delores Workman. Fondly admired by his late in laws Lorne B. Hodgins and Cora Fairservice. <br> <br>For several years, until his health failed, Ron was a dedicated and active member of the Kanata Nepean Rotary Club. Ron was always eager for a challenge – one being the purchase and renovation of the former Scobie House in Norway Bay in partnership with Don McCredie, which they operated as the Riverview Inn for several years. <br> <br>The family wish to thank the all doctors, Dr. Anil Jain, nurses, PSWs and the entire staff of the Valley Stream Retirement Residence & Carefor Staff for their caring help and support. <br> <br>A Remembrance Service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Britannia United Church, 985 Pinecrest Road, Ottawa. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow. For those who wish a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be much appreciated. <br> <br>Ron you will be loved and remembered forever. <br></div>
