<div itemprop="description">Ronald Hawken Robertson CD. <br>Ret’d WW II Veteran <br>1920 – 2018 <br> <br>It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved husband and father, Ronald Robertson, on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Beloved husband and best friend for 68 years to Corelean (Scott). Loving, cherished father to Janis Robertson (Doug MacGregor) and Scott Robertson (Louise). Proud Grandfather of Russell, Owen and Ella. Survived by siblings Roy (Lillian), Catherine and Ian. Predeceased by brothers Alex and Gerald. Will be missed by his sisters-in-law, Helen and Elaine. Uncle to Gary (Tammy), Patricia (Gerry), Jeffrey (Rosanne) and Eric. Ronald will be missed by many special friends and neighbours in both Ottawa and Bahamas. <br> <br>Ronald was born on March 15, 1920 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island to parents Albert and Hilda Robertson. Served in the Royal Canadian Navy and enjoyed at 35-year career at the Canadian National Research Council. Was a member of many service clubs including Atlantic CPOA, HMCS Carleton, 30th Field Artillery, long standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion and 62-year member of the Masonic Fidelity Lodge <br> <br>Thank you to the staff and doctors of the Ottawa Heart Institute, ICU at General Hospital, Dr. Davidson, Dr. Forbes, Moise and staff from Carefor and Veterans Affairs for all their compassion and care. <br> <br>A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pinecrest Remembrance Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa. Memorial Service to be held at 2 p.m. followed by interment and reception. <br> <br>For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to Courageous Champions (courageouschampions.com).
