<div itemprop="description">Reginald Stewart Laventure<br>1939 – 2019<br><br>Reginald Laventure passed away peacefully on February 15, 2019 at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice in Kanata. Beloved husband of the late Nancy Jane (née Iredale) and loving father of Julie (James), Craig (Micheline), and Scott (Vanessa). Fond grandfather of Maxine and Evelyn. <br><br>Cherished son of the late Clark and Mildred (née Stewart) Laventure and dear brother of Suzanne (Terry), Doug, Nancy (Tom), David (Bonnie), Fay, and Robin. Reg is survived by his sister in-law Anne Noice (née Iredale) and brother in-law John Iredale (Bev). He is predeceased by his brother in-law Barry Noice. He was the uncle of many nieces and nephews.<br><br>Holder of a general science degree from the Ontario Agricultural College at the University of Guelph and Masters of Science from McGill University (Macdonald College), Reg was an intelligent and hardworking man who will be missed by many family, friends, and former colleagues at the Ottawa-Carleton School Board.<br><br>The family wishes to acknowledge the extraordinary care that he received at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice during his final days and support of the wonderful friends who took care of Reg’s farm during his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice in Kanata would be appreciated.<br><br>A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21st between 7:00 and 9:00 pm followed by a chapel service and reception on Friday, February 22nd at 1:00 pm at Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, Ottawa. Interment to follow in the Spring. <br></div>
