Robert John “JACK” Cornett was the consummate scientist. He loved to question, discover, and explore, both in the sciences and outdoors. He took these same attributes to every activity he participated in, and there were many activities! Jack will be missed by all those whose lives he touched, including through his work at Atomic Energy of Canada in Chalk and Deep River, Radiation Protection Bureau, Health Canada in Ottawa, Department of Defence in Dartmouth NS, and at the University of Ottawa in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, as well as through his many other activities – squash, tennis, kayaking and canoeing, skiing both cross-country and down hill. Jack was the son of Cliff and Jean Cornett of Toronto, both pre-deceased. He will be greatly missed by his wife Janice Lardner, daughters Alex (Chad) and Sam (Brendan), his brother Doug (Kimberly) and their daughter Katherine, his extended family (Lardner and Trotter) and the many friends and colleagues he had the good fortune to meet during his dynamic life. We would like to thank the staff at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus ICU unit for the care they gave to Jack and to the family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Camile Villeneuve Hall, Desmarais Building, Room 4101, 55 Laurier Avenue East, University of Ottawa on the 4th of November from 3-5pm.
