In Loving Memory of
Philip S.Yang
Sept. 9, 1946 – Sept. 6, 2019
Sadly, we announce Philip’s passing in the early morning of September 6, 2019 in his 73rd year. He was predeceased by his father Raymond, mother Lucy, and sister Andrea. Loving husband of 48 years to Janice Georgy, cherished and proud father of Lauren (Donald), special uncle to Rayme and dear relative to many cousins, nieces and nephews. Philip had a 25 year career in social service programs: first with the City of Ottawa then as a federal civil servant. He was a man of boundless energy with skills to organize, build, repair, cook and plant anything imaginable. In retirement he worked mostly for friends as a skilled handyman and volunteered at the Ottawa Tool Library and later with the Woodpark Community Garden. Visitation will be held at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 5:00 until 8:00pm. A Celebration of his Life will be held on in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Memorial donations in honor of Philip can be made to the Ottawa Tool Library (ottawatoollibrary.com, 250 City Centre, Bay 216, K1R 1C7).
