Peter Coleman
June 23, 1940 – March 14, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Coleman on March 14, 2019 surrounded by his family. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Jean, and his children Vicki McNicoll (Dan) and Dan Coleman (Nathalie). He was the very proud grandfather or “Pa” of Joshua (Vanessa), Tara, Charlotte and Blake.

Peter was predeceased by his parents Edmund and Elva Coleman, his sisters Fay Kaustinen (Oskar), Patsy Peden, Betty Timms (Armand), and Gwen Coleman and by his brother-in-law Robert Coleman. He is survived by his sister-in-law Freida Coleman (Wayne), brother-in-law Jim Peden, and many nieces and nephews.

Peter worked at and was a part owner of Pye and Richards Architects in Ottawa. He enjoyed model railroading and was an active member of OVAR (Ottawa Valley Associated Railroaders) for many years.

Peter was a meticulous carpenter and his family are fortunate to have pieces of his handcrafted furniture. He could fix almost anything we presented him with and would begin by saying “I think I can”. One of his favourite places was the family cottage on Big Gull Lake and we have many happy family memories from our time spent with him there.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
