<div itemprop="description">PAULINA CASAGRANDE (NEE BARTOLINI) <br>1919 – 2018 <br> <br>Paulina passed peacefully after living a long and fulfilling life on April 4th, 2018 shortly after her 99th birthday. A truly kind and gracious person, she will always be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. <br> <br>She treasured her family and was a devoted mother to Sandra O’Neill (Leonard), Joanne Pearce (Graham), Lidia Bayne (Jim) and Peter (Rebecca); a loving grandmother to David (Cathy), Mark (Carla), Robert, Paula (Troy), Lisa, Terry, Sarah (Henry), Genevieve; and a proud great grandmother to Mathew (Kat), Brittany, Sam, Kate, Stuart, Amy, Jenna, Patrick, Ryan, and Anthony; and a great-great grandmother to Avery. She was pre-deceased by her husband Tony and sisters Daria and Teresa. <br> <br>Paulina was born in Montreal to the late Sarah and Luigi Bartolini. As a CN Chef's wife she moved from the Ottawa area to Saskatoon and then Halifax gathering many friends along the way before moving back to Ottawa in 1970. <br> <br>Paulina was a determined and industrious person. She was an accomplished seamstress known for her wedding attire creations and all manner of complicated dress and accessory making. She was renowned for her traditional Italian cooking and her recipes were often used in her husband's cooking classes at Algonquin to demonstrate how to "do it right". <br> <br>She spent the last 4 years of her life at Villa Marconi where she made many friends with residents and staff. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Villa Marconi for providing a wonderful home and loving care for Paulina. <br> <br>Paulina will be deeply missed by her family and friends. <br> <br>Friends may pay their respects at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 1-3 and 6-8pm. Funeral service to be held on Monday, April 9 at 11am in the Pinecrest Chapel. Interment and reception will follow. <br> <br>For those who wish, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated. <br></div>
