Nicole’s spirit was set free peacefully at home. Her love, intellect, laughter, humility and incredible desire to give, and make this world a better place, will be forever embraced and remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Nicole leaves behind her soulmate Leanne Watson; parents Marilynn & Bryan; brother Michael, sister-in-law Sarah and two incredible nephews Logan & Dylan Bass, in addition to many friends and members of her extended family. Our heartfelt appreciation to Doctors Louise Coulombe and Lisa Aldridge for their tremendous skill, compassion and humility throughout this journey.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Society of Canada https://www.als.ca or the Ottawa Valley Wild Bird Care Centre https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/39728 would be appreciated. Private interment at Pinecrest Cemetery. Details pertaining to a Celebration of Life will be shared at a later date.

Nicole,
Over the past 18 years you have taught, guided and supported me to become the person I am today. We shared so many laughs, tears, concerts and life lessons. You showed me that no matter what twists and turns life shares, it's possible to face it while staying true to yourself; and that courage and strength are an approach not an outcome. I'll spend the rest of my days reflecting upon and sharing our favourite memories with those we cherish most and continue to listen to and learn from your spirit. I'll love, miss and remember you forever. Keep it classy sweetheart. xoxoxoxoxo

I wanted to offer my sincerest condolences to all family and friends. For the brief moment in time that I was privileged to sit next to Leanne at work I feel like I got to know Nicole personally, although I never met her. Leanne spoke about Nicole all the time. It was obvious that Nicole was her everything. Remember when we stopped working so we could hustle on the phone to get you concert tickets? we had to be one of the first callers to make sure we could get your spots together:) Leanne, you're one of the strongest people I've ever met with the best attitude / dispositions towards life. I am honored to have shared that space with you and got to know you a little. I know people from every corner of your life are just as lucky to have you in theirs and they are here to support you through this. I hope you know it too. take care of yourself. miss you.

My sincerest condolences to Nicole’s family and friends, may she rest in peace. Leanne, although no words can help ease your loss at this time, may time heal your heart and memories comfort your soul. In time, it will be the little things that you will remember, the smiles, the laughter, the quiet moments, the memories of these little things will help push away the pain and bring the smiles back again. Here for you my friend. Hugs
