It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and Nana, Milka, on Sunday September 20, at the age of 84 years.

She was a woman of strength and determination, spunk and laughter, with a deep love for her family. She was the loving wife of Edward (deceased) with whom she travelled in 1957, from Slovenia to a new life in Canada. Proud and loving mother of Andre (Margaret), Maria (Chris) and John (Carole), and cherished Nana of Allison and Kathleen Pirnat, Matthew, Emily and Andrew Griffiths, and Nicolas and Destiny Pirnat, and her great grandson Ryan. Milka is survived by her dear brother Mirko, her sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and cousins in her homeland, Slovenia.

We would like to recognize and thank the tremendous staff at the Courtyards on Eagleson for their kindness, care and deep affection.

As a result of Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County may be made.
