Larry (Lawrence) Charlebois

March 23, 1951 -  March 15, 2020

Peacefully passed away at the May Court Hospice on Sunday March 15th, 2020 at the age of 68 years with his wife and son by his side. Devoted husband to Denise (born Charbonneau) and loving stepfather to Craig Barnaby (Rachael) and grandfather to Jayce and Darcy Marie. Brother to Gerald (Marie), Dalton, Brian, Marlene Parman and Linda Leblanc (Jean-Pierre). Son of the late Raymond Charlebois and Violet Cameron. Predeceased by his brothers Raymond, Edwin, Carl, Kenneth and his sisters Doreen Carrol, Joan Farley and Ina Cyr. He will also be missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, his many nieces, nephews and friends. Larry was always an inspiration to his family and friends, he remained upbeat and positive to the end, never missing an opportunity to make someone smile, kind words or gestures. Larry worked for 30 years as a Highway Coach Operator for Voyageur Colonial and later on for Coach Canada. He was involved in supporting his co-workers with the union and later as a condominium board member where he resided. The family wishes to thank the LHIN, St Elizabeth, May Court Hospice and the many Doctors and Nurses for the exceptional care he received. As per Larry’s request, donations to the May Court Hospice would be appreciated on his behalf. At a date yet to be determined, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Rd, Ottawa.

Having know Larry for over fourty years he became more like family than a friend. We have been very lucky to have known him and sped time with him and Denise especially over the last few years. We have many great memories of our vacations and travels together over the years. His smile and laughter will always be missed. Larry advised to plan for tomorrow but live for today and that we shall... Oh yeah. You are sorrily missed
but you will always be in our hearts.
Our thoughts and love are with Denise , Craig and Family.

Deepest condolences to Denise, Craig and families,

We will always remember Larry as a great friend and neighbour. He had an awesome sense of humour and loved to tell stories of his younger years. We loved to listen.

He was such a brave warrior and always optimistic, smiling and joking around with everyone. He was truly an inspiration to others. He loved to cook and especially bake!

We shared a few evenings, a few drinks , lots of home-made desserts, playing cards, and many laughs.

Larry, we miss you already. Please RIP friend.

Love,
Bill & Linda

R.I.P. Larry. Super guy. Would do anything for you.
Back in the 80's, there was a ski trip, to Mont Ste.Anne QC. that I had organized. Larry was the driver. Freezing rain. Larry called and said, that he would pick up the gang from Cumberland, 10 of us, at my house. Lo and behold, the bus slid into the ditch, on my street. Being in the country, I called a friend, to come help out. Mission accomplished. We were on our way. Upon arriving near the ski hill, the police wouldn't let the bus try to go up the hill,to the chalets.....freezing rain. Stuck there for 3 hours.
Larry's brother, Gerry, happened to have a few legs of beer, in the underneath compartments. (His supply for the weekend. )
Needless to say, it didn't last long. It was a memorable trip, enjoyed by all, except for Larry, who drove the entire trip, in the bad weather, while the 40 passengers, had a blast.
Heartfelt condolences to you, Denise, your family, and the Charlebois gang.
He will be greatly missed.
