Peacefully and surrounded by her family and loved ones, Jo passed away on October 18, 2019 at age 89. She will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted husband George. They have had the happiest of marriages over 69 years. Beloved by her children Karen (Ray Slater), Shelly (Tom Hunter), Laurel (Rob Saloman), Andrew and Sandra (Denis Diotte). Her 13 grandchildren were her pride and joy – John (Karine), Chris (Christianne), Brian, Shannon (Tyler), Jacquie (Imran), Aaron (Cate), Justin (Alissa), Nick, Trevor, Stephanie (Joel), Eric, Tristan and Isabella. She was also grateful for her beautiful great-grandchildren – Nathan, Keeva, Lexie, Emma, Logan and Finn – and leaves us with hopes for many more. She also leaves behind her treasured little, furry and faithful companion Molly.

Jo has brothers-in-law, sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews who have shared many memorable, happy times together and who will miss her warmth and kindness. There are also many friends who will miss her. She was very thankful for the friendships and good times had in the Pine Hills Community.

Jo was a card player to be reckoned with. She played in numerous bridge clubs over the years building lifelong friendships. She was a sought-after partner for her card sense and luck at many family euchre tournaments. Jo and George were avid square dancers, dancing in Montreal, Ottawa and various North American conferences over the years. It was great fun. She always loved a good party and hated the thought of missing one. We will hold on to the belief she will always be with us.

Memorial Service will be held at Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute - https://foundation.ottawaheart.ca/ - would be appreciated. On line condolences may be made at www.colefuneralservices.com.
