John Blakely

July 22, 1949 -  June 21, 2020

Peacefully on Sunday June 21 2020 at Elizabeth Bruyere Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer. Writer, poet, musician, father, friend, strong in his faith in God to the end. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Mary Blakely, sister Val and niece Christine. Survived by his much loved and loving sons Michael, Adam and Aaron and their mother Shelley. Brother of Richard, Gordon, Sheila, and Chris. Uncle and great uncle to David, Patrick, Katie, Zak and Ralph.

Private family service to be held at a later date the Rev. Alana McCord presiding. Internment at Pinecrest Cemetery in Ottawa. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in John's name to Hope Living Kanata, Shepherds of Good Hope, Centre 454 or St. Luke's Table. Many thanks for the amazing care John received by the loving hands of the palliative care unit 5th floor 43 Bruyere and the spiritual care team.
