<div itemprop="description">ATKINSON, John <br /> <br />On January 15, 2016 the Lord unexpectedly took John home at the age of 62. He is survived by his wife Dora Boersma and children Peter (25) and Sarah (19). John has four siblings, Fran (Jim Brase), Marilyn (John Watkins), Elizabeth (Walter Kornas) and Dave Atkinson (Sue Adams). John married Dora in 1984, and they have had 31 years of wedded bliss. John will be greatly missed by family, colleagues and friends. Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 21 at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Road Ottawa) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 22 at Sunnyside Wesleyan Church (58 Grosvenor Avenue, Ottawa) at 10 a.m. with Reverend Brent Russett officiating the service.In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
