"No Stone is Big Enough To Hold Your Heart"
Beloved husband, father, uncle, honourable Royal Canadian Air Force Veteran (WWII) passed away peacefully at the age of 93, at home in the company of close family and loved ones. A Fond Farewell gathering will be held Tuesday, July 4 at 11:30 a.m. at Highland Park Cemetery, 2037 McGee Side Rd. Reception to follow. Jack is survived by his beloved wife Annette Edelson (nee Diotte) and his children Mark and Natalie Edelson. Born in 1924, the fifth child of Ben and Alice (Coblentz) Edelson, Jack had a vibrant and colourful life. As a teenager he worked at the 1939 New York World's Fair; he served our country during WWII in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a wireless air gunner. An apprentice watchmaker to his father Ben Edelson of Edelson's Jewelers on Rideau St. in Ottawa, Jack then started his own watch repair business. Jack eventually changed vocations to become a caterer and restaurant owner of J's Steak House and Jack Edelson Catering Ltd, and for many years was one of the only kosher caterers in Ottawa. He also catered many high-level functions for the federal government during the Trudeau/ Mulroney years. In his later years Jack became a founding member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 638 in Kanata. Jack was predeceased by his six siblings, Samuel, Dina, Lillian, Vivian, Joyce and Elihu, as well as his first wife Freda Edelson (nee Davis). Jack will be dearly missed and remembered for his lively sense of humour, his down-to-earth way of relating to people and his "live and let live" outlook towards life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jack's name to Hospice Care Ottawa
