<div itemprop="description">Hugh Arnold Peacock<br><br>Born in Hamilton, Ontario on March 29. 1924. Hugh passed away peacefully at The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre in Ottawa, Ontario on October 6th, 2019 at 95 years of age. Dear husband and best friend to Isabel MacLeod deceased 2015. Loving father to David (Kim), Bruce (Sherrol), Hugh - deceased (Sarah) and Margaret (Steve). Loving grandfather to eleven grandchildren and two great grandsons and two great granddaughters. Survived by sister Ruth and her husband Fred Spencer. Thanks to Phyllis Larocque deceased and the Larocque family for their friendship and support. Hugh served as a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force, the British Navy Fleet Air Arm during the Second World War. Following his service, he attended the University of Toronto earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry in 1951. He was also awarded a bronze T in athletics for swimming and water polo. Following graduation, Hugh married, moved to Saskatchewan, and was employed as a Regional Forester in Hudson Bay. Later he took on duties as Woods Manager for the Saskatchewan Timber Board in Prince Albert. In 1965 Hugh moved to Winnipeg to a position with the Federal Forestry Service and in 1967 came to Ottawa as headquarters Forester with Indian Affairs. During retirement, Hugh enjoyed many years sailing from the Nepean Sailing Club of which he was a founding member. Isabel and Hugh travelled to many countries and also made many visitations to family in western Canada. We would like to thank the Perley hospital staff for their kind and helpful care. A Celebration of Hugh’s Life will be held at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 1 to 4 p.m. For those who wish, donations may be made to The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre in his memory.<br><br></div>
