Henry MacDonald

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Henry (Don) MacDonald. Henry passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital on Tuesday October 29, 2019, surrounded by his loving wife of 56 years, Gail and his devoted daughters Jann and Donna Gail and their families. He also leaves to mourn his sister Beryl (Stewart) and brothers John (Ruth), Allister (Mae), Angus and Earl (Heather). He was predeceased by brother Neil (Theresa) and sister Valerie (Ralph). He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, serving as a flight engineer for 38 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. Henry lived his dream throughout his career, flying many different aircraft while travelling around the world and making good friends. In his retirement, he was an avid golfer who enjoyed the company of the Motley Crew for years. Henry was a devoted husband, father and poppa and we all will miss his unconditional love and support. His dry wit and sense of humour, that we all share, will help us through these difficult days. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family. A Celebration of Henry's life will be held on Wednesday, November 6 at the Pinecrest Reception Center (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa) from 1-3 p.m. A private family graveside service will take place after the Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Henry's name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
