<div itemprop="description">Guy TANYAN<br>1928-2016<br><br>Guy TANYAN was born in Mauritius, on Oct. 03rd 1928 and passed away peacefully on October 28, 2016, in his 88th year.<br>He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Arlette, and his 2 daughters Caroline (William) and Dr. Christine (Pierre), along with his 3 grand-children (Claudia-Ann, Bryana, Nicholas).<br>After leaving Mauritius to pursue his studies in England, Guy started his professional calling in the UK as a Civil Engineer, followed by a rewarding career as an Environmental Engineer with the World Health Organization, in various countries spanning from Africa to Asia, spending many of those years in Morocco with his family. As a dedicated family man yearning for better future opportunities for his children, he moved to Canada in 1976 and applied himself in both of his engineering specialties for respectively the Federal Government in Montreal and Provincial Government in Quebec City. Ottawa was his new home during his retirement years.<br>Guy was an ambitious, independent, strong willed pillar to his family. He believed in the ongoing pursuit of higher aspirations through continuous education and formation, and a strong unwavering work ethic. He was determined to pass along such rewarding values as autonomy and independence, as a lasting legacy to both of his beloved daughters.<br>A special thanks to the staff at Carlingview Manor for their dedicated care, assistance and compassion.<br>A private mass and family inurnment took place on 02nd Nov. 2016 at the Pinecrest Cemetery, Ottawa, On., Canada.<br>The family wishes to extend their gratitude for all of the many kind thoughts and words of support from family and friends.<br></div>
