Surrounded by loved ones George passed at Longfields Manor at the age of 96. Born in Douglas, Isle of Man, he joined the British Merchant Navy in 1939 and was seconded to the Canadian Merchant Navy in 1943, then emigrated to Canada following the war to live a long full life.
He is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Jessie Craine, brother John, his son Tom (1971) and his beloved wife of 68 years Charlotte (2013).
Lovingly remembered by his children Carol Harkness (Court), Susan Craine and George Craine (Mary). Proud Grampa of Sarah, Larissa (Ryan), Danièle, Tom (Meagan), Trevor and Vanessa and Great Grampa of Oliver, Abigail, Vivian and Olive.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Longfields Manor for their loving care and support over the last 2 years.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 641 or charity of your choice.
