<div itemprop="description">Eveline Lavoie (née Desaulniers)<br>January 13, 1924 – April 14, 2017<br><br>Passed away peacefully, with Nicole, Michelle and Marcel by her side. Predeceased by her loving husband, Jean Lavoie. Loving Mother of Nicole (Martin Parker), Michelle (Trevor Woodside) and Marcel (Nadia Porcari). Devoted “Memère” to Michael, Nicholas, Avery, Scott, Sawyer, Juliana and Jacob. Great Grand “Memère” to Olivia, Daphne and Alexa. Predeceased by her siblings, Adrien, Henri, Laura, Leona, Jeanne (Saltel), Pauline (Roy) and Maxime. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as sisters-in-law Rose Bruneau and Therese Murie. <br><br>Born from humble beginnings in Saint-Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba, Eveline worked at the St. Boniface Hospital with Therese Lavoie, who introduced her to her future husband Jean. She was deeply dedicated to her family and to raising her three children. She worked tirelessly at tending to her vegetable gardens at the Lavoie Family Farm on Dawson Road, and canned hundreds of jars of vegetables and preserves each season. Once in Ottawa she worked many years for the Hudson’s Bay Company on Rideau Street. When she retired, she cared lovingly for her grandkids. Eveline was a tough prairie girl who was hard working, honest to a fault, and never veered from walking a straight line. <br><br>We would like to thank Windsor Park for making the Manor her special home for the past eight years. We would also like to the thank the staff at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus, B-5, Drs. Nishikawa and Hartwick as well as the many nurses and PCAs. <br><br>Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at the Windsor Park Manor, at 990 Hunt Club Road on Saturday, April 29th from 11 am to 12 noon followed by a reception. Additional parking at the Church of Perfect Liberty, East of the Manor at 1010 Hunt Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County. <br></div>
