<div itemprop="description">Kennedy, Edwin CPA, CMA<br>March 2, 1927 - November 14, 2017<br>Veteran WWII<br><br>Passed away peacefully on November 14, 2017 at the Rideau Perley Veterans’ Health Centre. Beloved husband for 63 years of Barbara. Loving father of sons Thomas, Danny and daughter Judi Pillar (Brian). Proud grandfather of Michael (Melanie), Shane, Jeffery and Rick Pillar, also great grandfather of Anabelle and Sienna Pillar. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.<br><br>Edwin was born in the former Grattan Township and attended a one room school house in his elementary grades. He attended high school in Ottawa. On completion of grade 12 he enlisted in the army at the age of sixteen and proudly served in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Edwin’s civilian work career consisted of thirty eight years in the Cdn. Public Service. In his early working years, he attended evening classes at Carleton University and attained his initial accounting designation as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). After retiring as a senior manager he spent many enjoyable years at the family cottage in Renfrew County. Edwin was the last member of the William Kennedy, Esther Valiquette family to pass away. His predeceased siblings were John (Margaret), Joe (Jean), Ireneus (Betty), Patrick, Bernadette (Bill Lewis), Monica (Allan Cole), Eva (Sister Mary Ursula), Mary (Syd Rombough), Lucinda (Adelard Poulin). Edwin also had a strong interest in genealogy and spent many hours researching his family roots in Canada, Ireland and France. There will be no visitation at his request. Funeral to take place at St. John the Apostle Church on Baseline Road, Ottawa on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 11:00 am, followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre or the Ottawa Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.<br><br>Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and caregivers at the Perley and for their exceptional care and support, especially Brianna, Esther, William and Will.<br></div>
