<div itemprop="description">Dr. Frederic Norman Brown <br>MD FRCSC FACS <br> <br>In his 95th year on March 18, 2018. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Leonora Elaine. Son of the late John Brown and Helen Gertrude Trumpour and brother of the late Gerald C. Brown. Cherished father of Catherine Brown—Evernden (Bruce), Janet Nativ (Avi), Laura Burnside (Graham) and Barbara MacKay (Vern). Beloved grandfather of Cara and Duncan Evernden (Marianna), Anna Nativ (Chris), Hillary (Eric) and Kimberly (Adam) Kavanagh, Emily Paquette (Nelson) and Martin MacKay (Françoise). Great grandfather of Carissa and Elaina Paquette. Uncle of Kip Brown, Sandy Leland Brown and Julie Verrecchia. Fondly remembered by Daniel (Samantha), Dennis and Jaime Burnside. Norman received his medical degree from Queen’s University in 1947 and practiced as a general surgeon at the Ottawa Civic Hospital until 1972 when he assumed the leadership role of Secretary Treasurer of the Canadian Medical Protective Association which he led until his retirement in 1988. Many thanks to the staff at the Red Oak Retirement Residence, the Ottawa Palliative Care Group and the staff and volunteers of the Ruddy Shenkmann Hospice. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, the Alzheimer Association of Ottawa and Renfrew County or Hospice Care Ottawa would be appreciated. In accordance with Norman’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held. <br><br></div>
