<div itemprop="description">David Martin Harris <br>December 13, 1938 - May 1, 2017 <br> <br>Surrounded by love, David passed away peacefully at Elizabeth Bruyere Hospital on Monday, May 1, after a valiant battle with melanoma cancer. Beloved husband, soul mate and dearest friend of Sharon (Evans). Loving father of Paul (Louise) Harris. Dear stepfather of Krista (Andrew) Sayer and Jane (Dennis) Sayer. Special Poppa to Jack, Cameron, Jenna and Charlie Sayer and proud Grandpa of Thomas and Jessica Harris. David is survived by his brother and good friend Stan (Donna), and is predeceased by his sisters Connie and Pat and brother Brian (Marie). <br> <br>A career Chartered Accountant, David served as Vice President of Univex Canada and enjoyed a successful career in electrical contracting and lecturing on the use of computers in commercial construction. David was a dedicated volunteer and served as a member of the Board and as President of the Ottawa Youth Services Bureau. One of his great pleasures was the refurbishing of an 1840’s stone house on Otty Lake where he and Sharon hosted family and friends at legendary dinner parties, celebrations and gatherings over many years. David was a loyal and devoted friend who, on request and without hesitation, shared his business acumen, expertise in accounting, and knowledge of construction with family members, friends and business colleagues. <br>A very special thank you to friends for their support and to our Dr David Millar for his compassionate care. <br> <br> <br>David's life will be celebrated at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, K2C 3H9 on Friday, May 12, at 1:00 pm with reception to follow. <br> <br>As expressions of sympathy and in memory of David, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. <br> <br></div>
